This
freestanding
stained
glass screen was inspired by Japanese artworks of an earlier time. The
longest pieces of glass in the waterfall are almost three feet long,
and since the glass I used was not totally flat, those same pieces jut
forward out of the plane of the stained glass at the top so that they
could fit into the outer came at the bottom. This resulted in an
unexpected but very effective three-dimensional effect.
This artwork is copper-foiled glass, mounted in a custom made wood
frame of koa and paduk. The overall size is about 6 feet wide and 7
feet high.
This photo was taken long ago before digital photography. If you are
seriously interested in purchasing this Japanese room divider, contact
me and I will take a better photo of it so
that you can see how wonderful it really is.
The price of this artwork was $6200.00, but I gave it to cousins in 2015.
